LitePoint Corporation, an industry leading provider of advanced wireless test solutions, announced the availability of two new industry leading wireless test solutions for advanced MIMO wireless LAN products, the LitePoint IQnxn™ MIMO Test System and the LitePoint One-Box Tester MIMO Add-On Software Package for existing LitePoint IQview® and IQflex™ instruments.
The LitePoint IQnxn MIMO Test System targets the flexibility needed for IC and product developers with an expandable array of integrated and synchronized Vector Signal Analyzers (VSA) and Vector Signal Generators (VSG) needed for today's complex wireless products. Optimized for the lowest production test cost, the LitePoint One-Box Tester MIMO Add-On Software running on either an IQview or IQflex test platform executes production test programs using advanced analysis techniques which deliver fast test times close to non-MIMO products.
"As the market leader in the WLAN test space, we dedicated ourselves to be the first test solutions provider to deliver this complete family of test products to support advanced multi-stream MIMO technologies," said Dr. Benny Madsen, CEO of LitePoint. "Providing complete solutions for our customers means lower development costs from IC to product development, correlation within the product value chain, and the lowest manufacturing cost required for high volume consumer products."
LitePoint MIMO Test Solution for Development
The LitePoint IQnxn MIMO Test System is a very flexible multiple VSA, multiple VSG instrument which comes in a 2X2 starter configuration and is expandable to a maximum 4X4 configuration using LitePoint IQnxn MIMO Expansion Units. All VSA and VSG resources are fully synchronized for accurate measurements. User test interfaces include two dual-band RF ports and single/differential baseband input and output ports.
The software suite supplied with the LitePoint IQnxn MIMO Test System includes IQsignal™ for MIMO, IQnxn API, VSG Channel Simulator Panel and is compatible with the LitePoint One-Box MIMO composite API for production test program development. Complete analysis of MIMO products is possible with this test system. Support for 802..11a/b/g is included and Bluetooth 2.0/EDR support can be added.
This product is targeted for chip developers, product developers, test development engineers and can be used for initial production and QA.
LitePoint MIMO Test Solution for Manufacturing
The LitePoint One-Box Tester MIMO Add-On Software Package adds production MIMO test capability needed on the manufacturing floor, seamlessly integrating into any existing LitePoint IQview or IQflex test instrument. Using an advanced parallel analysis methodology, fast test times and low cost-of-test can be achieved. Limited debugging capability is provided with an included upgrade to IQsignal.
As MIMO chipsets become available in the market, LitePoint will offer production-ready test programs based on the LitePoint IQfact™ core test program which already supports 802.11a/b/g chipsets from IC manufacturers such as Texas Instruments Incorporated and Broadcom Corporation. This product is targeted to mass production applications and can be used for QA.
LitePoint Software Upgrade Path to 802.11n
LitePoint product architectures are software based making them future proof. LitePoint MIMO analysis software supports several MIMO implementations including Enhanced Wireless Consortium (EWC) and other multi-stream MIMO technologies. Software updates will be made available on the LitePoint online Client Center when the final 802.11n standard is finalized.
LitePoint MIMO Workshop
LitePoint is holding a no-cost workshop called "Finding MIMO: Will future changes help or hurt?" on Thursday, November 17, 2005 at its Sunnyvale, California headquarters covering the technologies, market dynamics and test requirements for multi-stream MIMO applications.
