MediaPhy Corporation, a fabless semiconductorcompany specialized in enabling global mobile TV applications, today announced theappointment of Mohammad Tafazzoli as vice president of operations. In his new role,Mr. Tafazzoli will be responsible for overseeing and managing the companysmanufacturing operations, logistics and related organizational growth plans as itsunique mobile TV semiconductor technology moves into volume production.
Bringing in an experienced VP of operations at this time is a direct reflection uponthe progress we are making in terms of the commercialization of our technology, saidTerry Leeder, president and CEO of MediaPhy. We believe we have the righttechnology to capitalize on the growing mobile TV industry. Mohammad will build theoperations and logistics capability to ensure that we can fully support our customersvolume requirements.
In the fourth quarter of last year, MediaPhy introduced two products offering multistandard,single-chip technology for mobile TV applications, the MP2011 Solo forglobal TV applications and the J-Solo, specifically targeting mobile TV applications inthe Japanese market. The products have gained significant interest throughout Europeand Asia, and MediaPhy is currently in development with several leading mobile devicemanufacturers.
MediaPhy has gained tremendous traction from its initial product launches last year,said Tafazzoli. I believe the company has substantial opportunity for expansion, and I

Mr. Tafazzoli brings over 20 years of experience in semiconductor operations, mostrecently serving as vice president of operations at Beceem Communications, a leading
provider of wireless broadband solutions for the emerging WiMAX market. He has alsoheld senior level operations, global manufacturing and quality control positions at
Genesis Microchip, Paradise Electronics (prior to merger with Genesis), Cirrus Logic Incand Signetics (a division of Philips). Mr. Tafazzoli holds a bachelors degree in
electrical engineering from San Jose State University.
