| MILPITAS, CA – December 3, 2002 – Linear Technology introduces the LTC1861L and LTC1865L, 3V, two- channel 12-bit and 16-bit, 150ksps Analog to Digital Converters available in tiny 10-Lead MSOP packages. They draw only 450µA from a 3V supply at 150ksps and have automatic shutdown mode between conversions to further reduce power consumption to 3µA at 1ksps. The combination of low power, 3V operation and a small package make the LTC1861L and LTC1865L ideal for portable or compact instrumentation. The ability to handle SPI serial I/O clock rates of DC to 8MHz simplifies connection to slow, isolated or remote designs and allows connection to fast processor serial ports. The LTC1861L and LTC1865L are pin compatible, allowing flexibility in performance and price with one board design. The 10-pin MSOP versions have a reference input pin llowing operation with spans from VCC down to 1V full scale. The SO-8 package has VREF internally connected to VCC for ratiometric operation. The LTC1861L and LTC1865L in MSOP-10 and SO-8 packages are available in the commercial and industrial temperature ranges and pricing begins at $2.75 each for 1,000-piece quantities. Summary of Features: LTC1861L and LTC1865L Pin Compatible 12-Bit (LTC1861L) and 16-Bit (LTC1865L) 150ksps ADCs Single 2.7V to 3.6V Supply Low Supply Current: 450µA (Typ) at 150ksps Autoshutdown Reduces Supply Current to 3µA at 1ksps Two Multiplexed Channels or One Channel True Differential SPI/MICROWIRE™ Compatible Serial I/O 10-Pin MSOP and 8-Pin SO Packages
