Aircraft engines are quieter, more efficient, and more powerful due to on-board monitoring systems that optimize system efficiency. The system checks each cylinder head and exhaust gas temperature to ensure approriate levels for the manifold, oil, and ambient pressures, ambient and oil temperatures, fuel-flow, and engine RPM. From these measurements, the system determines proper air/fuel mixture conditions, calculates the engine output power, and displays the various parameters in textual and/or graphical form. A simple keypad allows user input to control the mode of operation. Serial and other communications ports allow the system to interface with other aircraft systems and to transmit data to a data logger.
