Air Bag
Today’s Airbag Systems require high reliability electronic components to ensure safe and proper operation under all conditions. The complexity of airbag systems is continuously increasing (partially fueled by Federal mandates) to enhance the safety of all passengers inside a vehicle. Frontal, rear-side, head and pillar mounted airbags require an increasing number of sensors and squib drivers. ST’s BCD (Bipolar + CMOS + DMOS) family of devices (ASSP and Full Custom ICs), coupled with an advanced 16/32 bit microcontroller product portfolio and an extensive standard product offering, is the obvious choice for any Airbag application. A sampling of ST (a worldwide leader of analog ICs for automotive) products that are applicable to Airbag Systems can be found in the following block diagram.
