The Shenzhou-6 Manned Space Flight Mission delegation visited the head office of Solomon Systech (International) Limited ("Solomon Systech" or "the Group", SEHK: 2878) today. Astronauts Mr. FEI Junlong and Mr. NIE Haisheng, and other delegates led by the Head of the delegation and Deputy Commander-in-Chief of China's Manned Space Flight Program, Mr. HU Shixiang, toured Solomon Systech's office and R&D facilities to see the Group's various cutting-edge display IC technologies and their applications. They also tried the latest microdisplay eyewear products that use Solomon Systech's Microdisplay Controller IC.
The visit is part of the delegation's 3-day Hong Kong tour and academic exchange at the invitation of the Chief Executive of HKSAR, Mr. Donald TSANG. The 30-strong delegation arrived the Hong Kong Science Park at noon and toured the IC design center, advanced product development laboratory and IC test center of Solomon Systech. Mr. Woon Ching LAI, Executive Director of the Group led the tour and introduced Solomon Systech's complete IC design and development process which is critical in enabling display applications in a wide range of products including cellular phones, computer monitors, flat panel TVs and other innovative consumer products. The delegation leader and the two astronauts showed great interest in the company's hi-technology such as the highly integrated IC products and also the precise testing capability.
The visit ended with exchanging souvenirs and taking group photos with the delegates.
