Teridian Semiconductor Corp. announced the introduction of the AVPro 5303B, a universal three input A/V switch driver IC designed for TV and general consumer A/V applications such as digital set-top boxes, DVD recorders, and personal video recorders.
The AVPro 5303B supports SCART, YPbPr, SVHS, CVBS, and R/L audio interfaces. The device is also configurable for TV Picture-in-Picture (PIP) and 4-to-6 input channel applications. Other key product features include power down mode, integrated 75-Ohm video drivers, 2-Vrms audio drivers, programmable video and audio gains, and flexible audio/video switching matrix.. All switching and function settings are controlled via I2C.
"The universal functionality and flexible switching capability of the device enable customers to design their equipments to satisfy different A/V interfaces required for different geographical regions. As such, customers no longer need to have multiple A/V designs and BOMs for different geographies," stated Khanh Lam, Product Line Manager for Teridian's Audio/Video products.
