Lattice 2009瞻望

1.Now we look back 2008,how would you comment your company in technology, revenue, and marketing influence? Are they impacted by some factors?

2008 has been a successful year for Lattice in several important ways.  Revenue from new products has grown 23%, which is the most rapid rate of growth in the programmable logic industry.  In fact, Lattice’s new products now account for a greater percentage of our overall revenue than our mature products.

This growth is the result of the innovative and differentiated new products that Lattice has brought to the market.  Our LatticeXP2 FPGA, for example, is the most advanced non-volatile device in the market. With the non-volatile benefits of maximum design security, instant on operation and a single-chip solution, the LatticeXP2 has found broad acceptance in many market segments. Our new low density, non-volatile ispMACH 4000ZE CPLD (complex programmable logic device) delivers similar benefits, and provides ultra-low power consumption to help customers reduce the carbon footprint of their designs.  Speaking of power, our programmable Power Manager devices monitor and control various power sources on a board, reducing the number of board components.

Yet another new product that has been enthusiastically received in the market is our LatticeECP2M FPGA family:  high-value, low power, SERDES-equipped devices that deliver much of the same communications functionality found in higher-end competitive devices. The LatticeECP2M FPGAs have been particularly well received in the wireless market segment. The LatticeECP2M has been widely recognized for its innovation by both customers and the industry press.  In fact, the LatticeECP2M was recognized by the prestigious EDN-China Innovation Awards. 

2.Under the situation, how would you like to adjust the marketing strategy for the coming year? Is there any different market focus from this year?

Regardless of short-term market and financial conditions, Lattice believes that over time innovative, differentiated and value-added products will be successful. In 2009, we will introduce additional new, value-added programmable logic products that will address the needs of specific markets.

3. Under the financial crisis, how do you think about saving energy (for instance, LED, hybrid locomotive) and new energy(solar energy/PV cells, new powers)market? What will become bright spot in the two fields? In these fields, what the key products and technology do you have? Do you have some market feedback?

Lattice will continue to deliver low power devices that enable energy efficient systems.  In addition, our Power Manager devices contribute to energy efficiency by closely monitoring and controlling power supplies. 

4. In 2009, is there some other market attack you(for example medical electronics)? What are the reasons?  Do you have some technologies and killer application to participate in?  Do you have some expects for your company in 2009, and what is your roadmap?

There is no question that 2009 will be a challenging year.  Nonetheless, Lattice is cautiously  optimistic, for several reasons.  Financially, Lattice is well positioned, with $163 million of  liquidity, no long term debt and positive cash flow. 

From a product and technology perspective, we expect our current new products to continue to show strong growth, and we  are excited by the potential for the new products we will introduce in 2009, which will more aggressively address various market segments.
